Memphis, Mick & Me

In early October I received an E-mail from Dave in Memphis, TN who had more than 50,000 vintage 50s & 60s cards to sell. His list included classic Bowman & Topps sets, and much more! I told Dave I'd just head ‘downriver’ from Minneapolis with a offer that he could not refuse.
Enjoying the famous Southern hospitality offered by Dave and his wife, I spent a day & a half viewing the vast collection. We worked out a price that worked for all parties. I knew I wouldn't be using the return ticket to Minneapolis ... not with 50,000 cards!

With a 900-mile trip back up-river, a rented truck got me back just in time to set up another trip. A Champaign, IL collector will be getting my best offer on his large, vintage collection in early November. Bon Voyage!

(See the nice note from the seller, below.)

The cards were in very nice condition, and included:

  • 1954-55 Bowman baseball sets
  • 1954-61, '64, '66, '67, & '70-'72 Topps baseball sets
  • several great "Micks"(see picture)
  • Many other nice Hall of Famers
  • Several 1960s Fleer & Topps football sets
  • A very sharp 1961 Fleer basketball set.

One of the best items was a mint condition, 1972 Topps® Baseball unopened wax box with 24 sealed packs in the box. (When is the last time you've seen one of these?)

If you have a vintage sports card collection to sell, call me personally at 1-800-408-2955, or e-mail me a list and brief description of your cards.

David,
“I wanted to thank you for your time and energy that you brought with you to Memphis! You spent a great deal of time going through the thousands of cards with a very professional attitude. It was also nice that we were able to learn a little more about baseball cards, card grading, and collecting. ... If we come across any more cards we will certainly give you a call! ... Thanks again for everything!” ...David, Memphis, Tennessee
